Dances at North Kitsap High School

North Kitsap High School dances are for NKHS students and their guests. To bring a guest, students must obtain a guest pass. School Dance Guest Forms will be available here and in the ASB Office a few weeks before the dance. All School Dance Guest Forms MUST be turned in by 2:00 PM the Wednesday before the dance - no exceptions.

2022-2023 Dances:

  • Dances for the 2022-2023 school year will happen as it is reasonable to do so based on safety recommendations from the Kitsap County Health Department and guidance from the State, NKSD School District Officials, and NKHS Administration. 
    • 2022 Homecoming Dance - Saturday, October 1st
    • 2023 Winter Dance - Saturday, March 11
    • 2023 Prom - Saturday, May 6th at the Columbia Tower Club

Dance Tickets:

  • Dance tickets can typically be purchased two weeks prior to the dance. Dance details will be advertised in the morning announcements, the daily Bulletin, and on signs in the halls.
  • To purchase tickets, visit the ASB Office located in the lower level of the main office, or at the Student Store by the commons. Tickets may be purchased with cash, check or credit card.
  • Guest Forms must be turned in by 2 pm the Wednesday before the dance. Tickets may be purchased until Friday afternoon before the dance.
  • ALL school fines must be paid before dance tickets may be purchased. Fines may be paid in the ASB Office or online. Parents can check for student fines by clicking on the 'Online Payments' icon under the 'Quick Links' section of the NKHS website. Once you log into the payment system using your Skyward login and password, click on your students name. Any existing fines will show up at the top of the page in red.

Dress Code:

  • Undergarments must be covered by outerwear.
  • Strapless dresses and those with spaghetti straps are allowed.
  • See-through material is NOT allowed in groin, buttock and breast areas; however, cleavage alone will not constitute a dress code violation.
  • Dresses MUST cover groin and buttock areas.
  • Not allowed: clothing that advocates drug or alcohol use, illegal activity or violence, sexual messages, vulgarity, profanity or is determined by law enforcement to be affiliated with gangs.
  • Dances are considered semi-formal events. While tuxes are not required, sweats, jeans, casual caps, and t-shirts are not permitted.
  • Sunglasses, face paint may NOT be worn.
  • If you do not comply with this dress code, you will NOT be permitted to enter and you will NOT receive a refund.
  • Shoes must be worn. If heels are removed, flip flops are an appropriate alternative.

Dance Rules:

  • All NKHS students and guests WILL be asked for photo ID for confirmation of age and identity.
  • NO guest may be 21 years of age or older.
  • Guests MUST be at least a freshman.
  • NO person on suspension or expulsion from any school including NKHS may attend a NKHS dance.
  • NO person known for or suspected of a crime or violent act in a public school may attend.
  • All Guests MUST adhere to all school and dance rules.
  • All bags are subject to search.
  • Sexually suggestive dance movements are NOT allowed. This includes but is not limited to: lap dancing, grinding, groping, on the floor dancing. Students will be subjected to removal from the dance and NO refunds given. Face to Face and leave some space.
  • NO person will be allowed to re-enter the dance.
  • NO person will be admitted to a dance after 9:30 PM
  • NO tickets will be sold at the door.
  • The sale or transfer of tickets will not be permitted. All students entering the dance will be on a pre-approved list, NO Exceptions.
  • Possession of a guest pass will not prevent any school administrator, chaperone, or security officer from refusing admission to any non-student.
  • Please do not bring overnight bags to be stored at school.
  • No use of lockers will be permitted.
