• Awaiting the Registration Code:
  • Your school's counseling office will send out your registration code. Make sure to check your school email account for this essential code.
• Website Visit:
  • Once you have your code, proceed to Parchment.com. The homepage will provide you with an introduction.
• Initiate Registration:
  • Navigate to parchment.com/register to input your details and the provided registration code.
• Creating the Account:
  • On the Parchment website, you'll find a "Sign up now" option.
  • Provide the necessary information as prompted, ensuring accuracy since this data will be tied to your transcripts.
• Email Address:
  • Use your school email for this process, as that is where the School Code has been sent. Once the account setup is complete, you can choose to change to a personal email if you wish.

• Accessing Transcript Section:
  • After logging in, select the "transcripts" option or tab.
• Initiating the Request:
  • Click on "Send Transcripts" and follow the guided steps. You'll choose where you want the transcript to be sent, such as to a college or prospective employer.
• Payment:
  • Official transcripts usually come with a fee. Provide payment details as instructed. Remember, unofficial transcripts are generally free of charge.
• Confirmation:
  • A confirmation will be sent or displayed once your request is successfully submitted.

Unofficial transcripts are typically used for personal reference and aren't recognized as official records by educational institutions or employers. However, they are useful to have on hand for a variety of reasons, such as preparing applications or reviewing courses taken. Here's how to manage and access your unofficial transcripts on Parchment.com:

1. Requesting an Unofficial Transcript:

• Account Set-Up:
  • If you haven't already, create an account on Parchment.com. Remember to start with your school email address, as the counseling office will send a School Code to this email. You'll need this code to register. Once set up, you can change to a personal email address later.
• Logging In:
  • Begin by visiting Parchment.com and signing into your account.
• Making the Request:
  • Within this section, you have a couple of ways to make a request. You can either click directly on the word "transcript" again or look for and select the "+" sign.
• Special Note:
  • Remember, you can only request an unofficial transcript when adding your school to your account. As you navigate this process, a checkbox will be presented to you. This box is typically pre-checked and signifies your wish to have an unofficial copy of your transcript stored in your account. Ensure you leave this box checked if you want the unofficial transcript.
• Authorization:
  • An authorization message will be presented which states: "I authorize a copy of my credential(s) to be stored in my Parchment account where I can view and manage the document(s)."

2. Accessing and Managing Your Unofficial Transcript:

• Viewing Your Transcript:
  • Once you're signed into your account, your unofficial transcript should be readily visible. If there are any pending requests with your high school, instead of seeing the transcript, you'll notice a "pending" indicator.
• Opening the Document:
  • To view the transcript, click on its image or the word "pending" if that's what is displayed.
• Printing & Downloading:
  • Within the viewing interface, you should see various icons or buttons at the top right.
    • To print the transcript, click on the print icon.
    • For downloading a digital copy to your device, click the download icon.
• Updating Your Transcript:
  • If there's a need to update the unofficial transcript, for instance, to reflect more recent grades or courses, there's typically an "update" option found at the bottom of the viewing screen. Clicking this sends a request to your school to provide a refreshed version of your transcript. The new copy, once available, will replace the existing one in your account.
• Sending Official Transcripts:
  • Even if you're in the unofficial transcript section, you can usually find a way to navigate to the official transcript ordering process. Look for a "Send" button or something similar which will guide you to place an order for sending official transcripts.

3. Costs Associated:

• Free of Charge:
  • It's worth reiterating that unofficial transcripts on Parchment.com are provided at no cost. This makes them a valuable resource for your personal academic management.

Official transcripts serve as a formal and recognized record of your academic achievements. Whether you're applying to colleges, seeking employment, or fulfilling other requirements, the official transcript is a vital document. Here's a comprehensive guide on how to handle official transcripts via Parchment.com:

1. Pre-Order Preparations:

  • Begin by visiting Parchment.com and signing into your account.
• Authorization:
  • To request your official transcript, you must authorize the platform to access and send your academic credentials. Ensure you're aware of any such authorizations or agreements when you sign up or request a transcript.

2. Requesting Your Official Transcript:

• Access the "Transcripts" Section:
  • After logging into your Parchment.com account, navigate to the "transcripts" section from your dashboard or main navigation bar.
• Initiate the Request:
  • Within this section, look for an option like "Send Transcripts" or a similar phrase to start the process.
• Select the Destination:
  • Choose where you'd like your official transcript to be sent. It could be to a college, employer, or another organization. Make sure you input the accurate address or destination details to avoid delivery issues.
• Payment:
  • Official transcripts often come with an associated fee. Follow the payment prompts to cover this cost. Ensure you have a suitable payment method on hand and proceed as instructed.
• Submit the Request:
  • After verifying all the details, finalize your order. A confirmation, usually stating "Request is confirmed!", should appear, indicating your request has been successfully submitted.

Official transcripts will be sent directly to the admissions office or location of your choice. You are eligible to receive (5) Official Transcripts at no charge. There will be a $5.25 fee for each additional transcript. 

• TIP: Want to see if your transcript order has been completed?  Log in to Parchment and click on the "ORDERS" menu at the top of the screen.

• 2nd TIP: If applying to colleges via Common App - you only need to order ONE transcript directly to Common App. Chat with your counselor if you have questions.

• When requesting mid-year grades (that include Semester 1 of Senior Year), you must mark "HOLD FOR GRADES" during the ordering process in Parchment. Seniors can order a final transcript to their college or destination of choice before graduation by selecting 'Hold for Grades'. Transcripts will be released once final grades are posted, and not before.

• It is your responsibility to confirm with your college that all documents, including your transcript, have been received. NKHS staff are not responsible for confirming that your college has received necessary documents.  We strongly encourage all students to double check that all documents have been received prior to any application deadlines.

All North Kitsap High School graduates, regardless of graduation year, can create an account on Parchment.com to order a transcript.  Transcripts cost $5.25, which can be paid online.  Please allow a *minimum* of two full school days for processing transcript requests.
