PSAT

The PSAT is offered every fall at NKHS. The Fall 2021 test is scheduled for Saturday, October 16th from 7:45 AM - 12:00 PM. The cost is $25. Registrations are open to 9th, 10th and 11th graders. Space is limited. As the PSAT gets closer, testing details will be advertised on our website, in the NKHS Bulletin, and in the daily morning announcements.

Payment can be paid online HERE or at the ASB office. There is no required registration form. Payment secures a seat for the test. A PSAT student guide booklet is available for pickup in the main office or at the ASB counter.

What is the PSAT? The PSAT/NMSQT is a test offered by College Board for students to practice the SAT college entrance exam. The PSAT is a multiple-choice exam that assesses 3 content areas: mathematics, critical reading and writing skills. The PSAT is designed to provide students an opportunity to test in a similar testing environment as the SAT. (Please note: The SAT is usually taken during the end of junior and/or beginning of senior year of high school.) The PSAT is great practice for students wanting to familiarize themselves with and practice for the SAT exam.

Note: 11th grade students who qualify for free and reduced lunch need to contact Mrs. Duplissey (PSAT Coordinator) at [email protected] or 360-396-3104 to register for the PSAT at no charge.

The PSAT is also the qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship, which students can only qualify for during their junior year. To learn more about the National Merit Scholarship and how to qualify visit www.nationalmerit.org.
