Career & Technical Education (CTE)
What is CTE?
Career and Technical Education (CTE) represents a structured curriculum designed to equip students with the requisite skills and knowledge for a wide spectrum of post-secondary education opportunities, such as technical colleges, four-year institutions, and apprenticeship programs. Grounded in industry norms, these courses seek to usher students into in-demand careers and vocations. The benefits of CTE courses include the ability to:
- Attain recognized industry certifications, such as in webpage design,
- Secure both high school and college credits concurrently,
- Gain entry into local apprenticeships and internship schemes within industry settings,
- Acquire elective high school credits through paid employment,
- Construct robust portfolios to showcase individual competencies and employment readiness,
- Investigate potential careers, familiarize with future job prospects, and stay abreast of trends to ensure long-term employability.
