NKHS Astronomy Club

NKHS Astronomy Club -
NEXT MEETING IS Tuesday October 31, 2017

The Astronomy Club is open to all students and staff in the NKSD.  We will meet once a month, after school.  The normal dates will be the last Tuesday of the month.

The goals of the club are to enjoy viewing the wonders of the night sky AND also to learn how to operate a telescope.  If a student learns the skill of using a telescope, there is a chance to attend a field trip to the Camp Delany Star Party in eastern Washington.  This will be discussed that the first meeting.

See Mr. Goar in Room 407 to sign up!

First meeting - Nominations for officers taken (election at next meeting), discussed potential Camp Delany field trip, discussed using a Dobsonian telescope, used star maps to learn the symbols for different objects to be found in the sky, discussed light pollution problem, and discussed a school service project.
