Classrooom Procedures

AP Computer Science is for students whose goal is to take the Adavanced Placement test in May of 2016.  We will focus on Java as the computer language and the College Board's Course description which can be found at http://secure-media.collegeboard.org/digitalServices/pdf/ap/ap-computer-science-a-course-description.pdf

Intro to Computer Science is for students with no prior programming experience or for the student with no interest in taking the Advanced Placement test in May.

For either student, a large portion of your grade comes from the online curriculum completion through codehs.com.  Their curriculum materials lay an outstanding foundation for both student tracks.  I will enroll all students the first week of class in the appropriate codehs materials.  A switch can be made if a student decides they would like to try for the AP test instead of just the introductory course or vice versa.

Smaller portions of your grade come from in-class assessments, projects, and participation.
