What is the NKHS Athletic Medicine Program?


The North Kitsap High School Athletic (Sports) Medicine/Athletic Training program includes two Certified Athletic Trainers (ATC's) and approximately 25 Athletic Medicine Student Aides doing their after-school practicum. The North Kitsap Athletic Medicine/Athletic Training Program is under the supervision of a sports medicine orthopaedic surgeon and a community advisory committee that includes doctors, nurses, physical therapists, students, and parents. The Career and Technical Sports Medicine Program at North Kitsap High School provides practical skills for students considering careers in athletic training, medicine, physical therapy, fitness, or other related careers. The ultimate goal of the athletic medicine staff is the prevention of athletic injuries. Student-athletes also receive the best in rehabilitative care with the state-of-the-art equipment. It is our philosophy that we provide an excellent educational experience for the student-athletic trainer while providing top-rate, quality sports medicine care and rehabilitation for the athletes at North Kitsap High School.
