Scott Orness - Head Coach

Coaching Experience: 18 years (15 at the high school level with 12 as Head Coach, 3 at middle school)
Orness is currently the Head Boys Basketball Coach at North Kitsap High
School and previously was the head coach at Bainbridge
High School for 11 years where his 2007 team,
powered by Steven Gray (Gonzaga/France Pro) and Coby Gibler (Central WA
Univ), brought the island into hoops-hysteria with their 24-5 run to
the State Title Game. In his 11 years at Bainbridge, 18 of his players
ended up playing basketball at the NCAA Division III level or higher.
In his first two years at North Kitsap, the Vikings have compiled a 42-12 record winning two Olympic League Championships, West Central District Championship, and placed 6th at the State Tournament.
Orness has been the recipient of the following awards:

Bainbridge, Coach Orness spent two seasons with Franklin Pierce High
School as a Varsity Assistant and then Associate Head Coach under the
tutelage of his father, Bruce Orness, and one season as a Varsity
Assistant with Puyallup High School. During those three years, his teams
won two league titles and earned three berths into the WIAA State
Orness played for Washington high school basketball hall of fame coach,
Rod Iverson, at Rogers High School (Puyallup). He was a varsity
contributor for three years and started his junior and senior year
seasons. During his senior year, Rogers won the SPSL South Division
Title, earned a trip to the State Tournament, and Orness broke the
school single season assist record. Orness was selected as Team Captain
during both his junior and senior seasons.
Orness is supported by his wife Molly and their two children, Emma and
Cade and have lived in Poulsbo/Kingston for the past 16 years.
Sean Olmsted - JV Head Coach, Varsity Assistant
Education: Olympic College with studies in Geology and Environmental Science.
High School: Bremerton High School 1988
Coaching Experience:Over 25 years coaching girls and boys basketball in the Kitsap Area.
10 years as a high school and middle school assistant coach. Head coach of both
boys and girls youth basketball teams over the course of 15 years.
Coach Olmsted is currently the head JV coach at North Kitsap High School and
assists current head coach, Coach Orness with the varsity. Coach Olmsted has
been involved in youth sports in Kitsap County Since 1990. He has worked with
players of all ages to improve their basketball skills.
Coach Olmsted was a 9-time Varsity Letterman at Bremerton High school lettering
in four different sports. He played two years of varsity basketball under Hall
of Fame Coach Les Eathorne. Coach Olmsted was a national ranked long distance
runner who spent time living and training at the U.S. Olympic Training Center
in Colorado Springs. He represented the U.S. In many international running
meets competing against teams from over 30 different countries.
Born and raised in Kitsap County, Coach Olmsted has always extended a helping
hand to those in need. From serving on the Board of Directors for many non
profit organizations, to dedicating endless hours mentoring our youth, Coach
Olmsted believes the most important thing that we can do is help our youth grow
and become productive members of our community.
Coach Olmsted and his wife Veronica currently run Olmsteds Nursey and O.L.D.
Land Development. They have two sons that are currently enrolled in the North
Kitsap School District and both boys have passion for the game of basketball.
Zach Anderson - Cteam Head Coach, Varsity Assistant
Education: Finishing a degree in Religious Studies and Social Sciences with Calvary Chapel Murrieta and Liberty University.
High School: Martin County West High School, 2004
Coaching Experience: 8
years. (1 as an Assistant Varsity Coach and Freshman Head Coach and 7
as an assistant Freshman coach and basketball camp coach.)
Anderson is currently the C-Team Boys Basketball Coach and
Assistant Varsity Coach at North Kitsap High School. This is his second
year as a C-Team head coach. Last year his team went 17-2 in the Metro
League. His goal is to develop and bring confidence to younger players
in a step towards the Varsity and JV teams.
Anderson played Basketball in the Minnesota State Finals and began
a college experience before moving to Washington. As well as coaching,
he enjoys hitting the courts in the Bremerton league and is a 4-time
champ. Basketball is in his blood and passing on that passion is what
excites him most about coaching.
Coach Anderson is supported by his wife Courtney and their 4 children, Rosy, Moses, Mirabelle and Abraham.
