Tennis-Girls

Welcome to North Kitsap High School
Lady Viking Tennis 2017
________________________________________________________
We are excited for the 2017 version of NK Tennis. We return 5 players who helped NK win the league, district and state title. Junior Danya Wallis returns as a two time state 2A champion. North Kitsap High School Girls' Tennis regular season runs from February 27 through May 4. From that point, players will be selected to play in the league tournament. From there, their play determines if the advance to districts and eventually the state tournament.
Once again, we will run two practices with 30 girls in the first session 2:45 to 4:15 and the second session from 4:00 to 6:00.
Because we have so many players this season, we will run a league at NKHS. Ea
ch student athlete will get 20 matches in the NK League. Some will have the opportunity to also play as a part of the Varsity and JV programs, depending on how many players our opponents have. The coaches feel our best competition for our younger players will be provided within our team.

SPORTSMANSHIP

Tennis is a game of self-regulation. Generally, we do not have officials at our matches; thus we must each learn the rules of tennis. One of the golden rules of tennis is “if you don't know for sure that a ball is out, then you have to call it good/in.”  I want our team to be fair in making line calls whether in challenge, JV or varsity matches.

TEAM EXPECTATIONS

Reliable and punctual, academically eligible, coach-able, 100% effort given every day, positive attitude, supportive of teammates, honest, no swearing and no drama!
